The introduction of Phu Tho Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development- Thanh Mieu Branch and the internship record.


Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development- Thanh Mieu Branch is one of the branches of  Phu Tho Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, the Bank's headquarters located in southern of Viet Tri city. Thanh Mieu Branch has made ​​management and administration as well as has done business functions directly in Viet Tri city.
As a branch of Phu Tho Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development , founded in 1997, Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development- Thanh Mieu Branch  has grown over 10 years of business and has achieved great success, contributing to the common career: building a strong economy for Phu Tho province. From the inception when the situation the country's economy initially transferred to the market mechanism, Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development- Than Mieu Branch has overcome many challenges to take up bank and increasingly asserted its place in the system Vietnam Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development- Thanh Mieu Branch applies the organizational structure of functional style online, ensures consistency principle in the relationship between party organization, management apparatus and trade unions. Principles for effective organizational structure are simple com, ensuring highly specialized and each position administrators have control over their duties under the direction of the board of directors, director general direction. The vice president is directly responsible for a number of rooms.
Organizational structure of AGRI- Thanh Mieu Branch is made as follows:
·        Leadership: one director and 2 vice director
·        The operation departments and one dealing department
The apparatus of branch management reflected in the following diagram:
·        Lending support housing demand: the AGRIBANK products for borrowers to buy land and housing, construction, renovation, repair and furnishing shopping at the customer's home.
·        Auto loans: a product that meets the needs of customers buying cars individuals and households through funding support for car buyers.
·        Personal loans business, household: the credit products to meet the capital needs of clients and purposes, additional working capital, business investment.
·        Term savings: with rich tenor (week, month, year) customers can select term deposits and savings interest method suitable purpose and needs.
·        Saving steps: a savings product term interest rate by a cumulative deposit by bank regulations, the client sends the first period, but the larger deposits, sending interest rates higher.
·        Money tranfer service
·        Money transfer services in the country: the money transfer service in which customers ordered bank transfer to the beneficiaries in the country at branches in or outside the Bank for Agriculture and Rural  Development of Vietnam.
·        International money transfer services: including money transfer services inflow and outflow.
·        VND exchange money unqualified traffic: the currency exchange unqualified traffic demand of customers qualify for cash flow.
·        Foreign currency exchange unqualified traffic: the service is sent overseas for foreign exchange cash flow unqualified customers qualify for cash flow.
In addition, the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development- Thanh Mieu Branch also has a lot of products and services such as card services, forex trading..
I spent 5 weeks (from June 17th to July 19rd) interning at AGRI –Thanh Mieu Branch. During this time, I was assigned to work in accounting department. This department has 9 staffs with appropriated role. In this internship, I worked as an assistant of an teller and helped customers with their day-to-day banking requests. The following paragraph is my short job description in the internship time.
In the few first days, actually, I just sat and observed people to understand the procedures of the bank’s operation. I got used to a huge source of document such as payment order, transfer lip, money exchange slip and so on. Actually, most of these ones were new to me, so it took several days to follow and use them correctly.
After that, I officially became an assistant of the department. I was made to contact with customers and explained as well as solved the problem for them. At first, I felt a bit nervous because I had never done this work before. After several trying times, I am acquainted with this work, and felt patient when contacting with customers. I was also made to count money for several times and realized that counting money was very interesting. Sometimes I was told to photocopy a few documents or receipt as well as identity card of customers. Now I can use photocopier proficiently.
Working in this department deepened my knowledge of the different products and services the bank offers. I had to learn various requirements for opening account type, diverse conditions of loans or borrowers, different kind of cash services with salary payment, collection, on-site collection and payment, foreign exchange and overseas remittance, and so on in order to be able to answer customers’ questions. Phrase like “I am sorry, I do not know” were definitely not welcomed. Customer tellers and cashier must work hard to satisfy customers. This is very important since a bank had lot of rivals, losing any customer must be avoided at most. I was taught that customer is the most valuable asset of a bank.
Moreover, thanks to the internship, I had chance to get to know how to use a lot of software for example Incas, Brach delivery system and so on. As a result, I knew how to operate transactions.
                   The internship time is not long but enough for me to change my supposed notion of working in a bank. When I first assigned to work here I used to think that working there would be very boring since you have to do all the same procedure over and over day by day. Sitting at one place helping customers with their requests was actually an unforgettable experience for me. I had chance to interact with new people every day. I learned that what seems the most boring to you could turn out unexpectedly exciting when you get to do it yourself.
