          Of all my friends, Minh is my best friend. He is 30 years old. He comes from Phu Tho province. He is tall and fat, with olive skin and curly dark hair. Minh is quite good - looking. He has a great sence of style, so he always looks well - dressed even in casual clothes.

          To everyone, he is friendly and helpful. He always helps his friends when they need.

          He studies very well. He never retakes examination for any subjects. Moreover. he is very keen on table - tennis.

          We respect each other and  have got many beautiful memories. This is the reason why we are very close to each other. All in all, i am glad to have Minh as my friend.

4. Sample short story

When I went to lunch today, I noticed an old man sitting on a park bench sobbing his eyes out.  I stopped and asked him what was wrong.

He told me, 'I have a 22 year old wife at home. She rubs my back every morning and then gets up and makes me pancakes, sausage, fresh fruit and freshly ground coffee.'

I continued, 'Well, then why are you crying?'

He added, 'She makes me homemade soup for lunch and my favourite biscuits, cleans the house and then watches sports TV with me for the rest of the afternoon.'

I said, 'Well, why are you crying?'

He said, 'For dinner she makes me a gourmet meal with wine and my favourite dessert and then we cuddle until the small hours.'

I inquired, 'Well then, why in the world would you be crying?'

He replied, 'I can't remember where I live.'

10, A sample report of recommendation

It is true to say that traffic jams are the bane of the existence and a perfect waste of time. As your request I am submitting this report detailing my recommendations for solving this hottest problem in our city. All my recommendations are based on the real life scenario.

My first plan is limitation of the number of cars entering into the city in rush hours. By doing this, we will not only reduce the quantity of cars but also cut out the air pollution. As a result, we will advoid the traffic jams.

 The second plan is improving the traffic system by building more passing bridge or widening the main roads.

However, from my point of view, I choose the first plan because it has more other advantages than the second one. For example, it is friendly to environment.

 11, A sample essay

   Topic: Smoking is harmful to our health so we should  encourage people not to smoke anymore.

We all know that smoking is the reason causing many diseases. One of them is lung cancer, which is very dangerous and may lead to the death. A cigarette contains nicotin that makes smokers be addicted. In addition, the smoke of cigarette affects not only the smokers but also the people arround.

However, some smokers say that smoking is one of the effective ways to relax when they get stressed. Furthermore, it is also the way to kill time when we have to wait for someone for hours.

No matter what smokers say, we can not deny the bad effections smoking brings to us. That is the reason why we should encourage people not to smoke anymore.

         

11. A sample memorable event

My last birthday party is the most memorable event in my life. I can still remember it, like it was yesterday. I remember that day clearly, August 4th 2011.

After a hard working day, I went home and felt quite tired. I had no idea about my birthday. But when I opened the door, I was so surprised. Everyone stood there: my parents, my darling and all my friends. The room was decorated with many colorful bumbles and candles. At that time, I was deeply moved and can not stand keeping my tears any longer.

We sang birthday song together then we danced and played game. It was so funny and everyone felt fully happy, especially me. I was received many gifts from my beloved people. I said thank you to everyone for celebrating party for me.

I am writing about one of the most popular cutural event in VietNam. It is "Hung" king temple festival. It takes place in Phu Tho Province - my hometown.

It is a colorful festival with many cutural activities such as boating, Xoan singing...and traditional games which are so interesting to audiences.

The festival lasts in 10 days, from 1.3 to 10.3 in lunar. It is held annually. The festival draws attention of  people from every area in country.

The festival is held to the memory of Hung king- the first one to establish the Van Lang State.

I am talking about my ex-lover. Her name is Linh. She comes from Vinh Phuc. I first met her when I was the student of first course.

We studied together at Thai Nguyen University of Education for 4 years. I studied Mathematics and she studied English. We often went out together in free time. At the weekend, She and I did our favourite activities. I played  table- tennis with my friends and she enjoyed cooking class with her roomates. Our love was beautiful.

We had leaved when both of  us graduated from our university. The last time I met her was 5 years ago. At that time, she was having a happy life with her family.

I am glad to tell you about my favourite cartoon. It is Tom and Jerry which is published by a famous producer, Walt Disney.

This cartoon contains 2 main characters: a cat named Tom and a mouse called Jerry.

They always stand in opposite side.  

In normal, cat always catchs mouse successfully but in this film, to catch Jerry, Tom gets many troubles. That are the scenes which make the audiences laugh.

For me, this film is so interesting. It helps me relax when I get stressed. Tom and Jerry is a famous cartoon for entertainment over the world.
